Nnadozie Nominated Again for Best Goalkeeper in French League

By November 1, 2025No Comments

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been shortlisted for the Best Goalkeeper award in the French Arkema Premier League for the 2024/25 season. The Paris FC shot-stopper is aiming to defend the title she won last season, when she edged out Christiane Endler of Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of PSG.

The 24 year old made history last year as the first African, specifically the first Nigerian ,to win both the league’s top goalkeeper award and the National Union of Professional Footballers’ honour for the same category.

This season, Nnadozie is up against Paris Saint-Germain’s Mary Earps and Lyon’s Christiane Endler once again. Nnadozie has recorded 10 clean sheets so far, while Endler leads with 13 and Earps follows with eight.

Since moving to France in 2020 from Rivers Angels, Nnadozie has developed into one of Europe’s elite goalkeepers and is a two-time winner of the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Her consistency in goal, calm under pressure, and elite reflexes make her a standout in every match she plays. But beyond the saves and clean sheets, what truly stands out is her mindset. Nnadozie plays like someone who believes she belongs at the very top and she does.

This nomination also symbolises progress. Too often, African players especially women are overlooked for awards and recognition in global football circles. Nnadozie is breaking that mould, one save at a time. Her rise is inspiring a new generation of girls back home who now know that their dreams are valid.
